Prof. Qimin Zhan has received Changjiang Scholarship of Ministry of Education. He is also a winner of the National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars and the national candidate of New Century Talent Project. He’s a chief expert of Innovation Group of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and a Chief scientist of the National Program on Key Basic Research Project of China (973 Program). He has been awarded Honorary Professorship at Kings College and University of Manchester, Visiting Professorship at Juntendo University and Keio University.

He currently serves as Chairman of Chinese Society of Microcirculation, Vice President of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Vice President of China International Exchange and Promotive Association for Medical and Health Care, and Chairman of the Overseas Physicians division of the Western Returned Scholars Association.

He has been engaged in the research of molecular oncology and translational medicine for a long time. He made outstanding achievements in the field of molecular oncology, including the first demonstrations in tumor suppressor p53-regulated signaling pathways in the cell cycle checkpoints and genomic stability following genotoxic stress. He also made the first demonstration of genomic alterations in human esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC), defining significant mutated genes, copy number variations and structure veriations during the ESCC development. He has published more than 300 peer-reviewed papers and 13 books in international journals of medical biology. He has been invited as keynote speakers of national and international conferences for over 200 times and served as co-chairman of 15 international academic conferences.

Prof. Ke’s research focuses on the etiology and mechanisms of upper gastrointestinal malignancies, precision prevention strategies for populations, and the translation and application of health-related big data. Her team has established population-based cohorts in high-incidence regions for esophageal cancer in China to investigate etiology and evaluate the effectiveness and health economics of early screening for the disease. She has led key national research projects, including the 863 and 973 High-Tech Programs, National Natural Science Foundation (major and general projects), and major scientific initiatives under the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Health Commission. Prof. Ke has published over 100 peer-reviewed publications both in Chinese and English in leading journals, and her work has been cited for more than 1,000 times. Her systematic research achievements have been published in top-tier journals across multiple professional fields, including The Lancet, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Gut, Cell Reports Medicine, Annals of Surgery, Cancer Research, and Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, covering gastroenterology, oncology, epidemiology, infectious diseases, surgery, endoscopy, and pathology.

Prof. Jiafu Ji is a world-renowned surgeon and scientist specializing in gastrointestinal oncology. He is an experienced healthcare administrator and a leading figure in cancer prevention and control. His team has pioneered studies related to D2 lymphadenectomy, laparoscopic gastrectomy, perioperative neoadjuvant therapy, and precision diagnosis with AI. These studies have been successfully translated into clinical practice advancements, significantly improving patient survival rates and quality of life in China and globally. Prof. Ji is dedicated to the standardization of gastrectomy, and his training programs have benefited over ten thousand surgeons in China. He was the first Chinese president of the International Gastric Cancer Association, where he worked to promote equity in gastric cancer treatment worldwide, particularly in less developed countries and regions. He is at the forefront of constructing the largest gastric cancer biobank and clinical database in China, implementing innovative analytical and computational tools to enhance monitoring, collaborative research, and patient care. Prof. Ji has published more than 400 research papers as the first or corresponding author, including over 300 in SCI journals (H-index 76) such as Cell, JAMA, Lancet, Lancet Oncology, and Science Translational Medicine, and has obtained 30 patents. His team won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award (2017) of China for their outstanding contributions to gastric cancer prevention and control.
